Welcome to Department of Homeland Security Asian American Pacific Islander Network! We are the employee association for DHS's Asian American and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander communities. 

This month:

On May 23, DHS AAPIN Presents 2024 AANHPI Heritage Month. This year's theme is "Charting Our Own Course - Leadership Education and Development"

Featuring plenary speakers from DHS, including Senior Official Acting in the Capacity of the Deputy Secretary Kristie Canegallo (invited) and Executive Director for the Strategic Recruitment, Inclusive Diversity and Engagement Office (STRIDE) of DHS, Sharon Wong. 

We are pleased to announce our guest speaker, Chief Heather J. Fong, Assistant Secretary for State and Local Law Enforcement. 

After the DHS AAPIN program, the program will transition to a panel discussion including speakers from TSA, USCG, and CBP to highlight the rich diversity of the Department of Homeland Security. This panel will feature:

Alicia Hager, Section Chief of TSA's Airport Operations Center

Jonathan Hsieh, Auxiliary & Boating Safety, USCG's Boating Safety Division

Maushumi Carey, Mission Support Chief for CBP's Office of the Chief Medical Officer
