About the Mentoring Program

Key Program Details

  • Six-month program duration.
  • Open to any DHS employee (Headquarters and components).
  • Mentors must be from outside the mentee's supervisory chain.
  • A mentor must be at least a GS-13 (or equivalent) or higher.
  • An individual can be a mentor and mentee at the same time.
  • The AAPIN Mentoring Committee will match the pairs, with the objective of accommodating shared interests and mentee preferences.
  • Pairs are expected to meet at least monthly (by phone or in-person).
